About the Author

Will Bryant was born in Arizona of pioneering people. Son of a restless father, he spent his boyhood years on the move throughout the western states. In all, he changed schools forty times, including nine high schools. He is a graduate of the University of Utah and studied at the University of Arizona Graduate College. He was a Naval Aviator during WWII and served in long range patrol bombers in the Philippines and China Coast.

He has been an art director, graphics designer and portrait artist. He is a self-taught artist-illustrator in the tradition of Remington and Russell and has also followed the antique arts of calligraphy, wood engraving & wood-carving. He is an accomplished trompe l'oeil painter, whose magically rendered "antique" doors are sought by collectors. Like Charlie Russell, he was blessed with the gift of being able to draw horses and riders in any position, including upside-down, having been, as Russell said of himself, bucked off enough times to know the territory well.
